Corporate Partnerships Manager

(Full time position, based in Bucharest)

 

The Corporate Partnerships Manager has a key contribution on reaching WWF-Romania’s goals in terms of nature conservation and ecological footprint decrease through securing financial and non-financial support from companies and other entities in the business environment.

The position holder will manage existing corporate partnerships and will provides overall leadership and the driving force for WWF’s engagement with the private sector in Romania.

 

Your duties will include:

  1. Strategic Development
  • Leading the development of WWF’s Romania corporate partnerships strategy to reach the financial and non-financial goals set by the organization;
  • Collaborating with practice teams in order to understand conservation projects and identify funding gaps and other needs that can be fulfilled through corporate partnerships;
  • Transforming conservation needs in projects that can be funded by businesses;
  • Acquisition of new corporate partnerships with regards to both fundraising- as well as conservation-based corporate engagements (20% tax facility, other donation appeals);
  • Understanding business environment, identifying threats and opportunities and proposing tactical actions;
  • Working with corporate partners by helping them understand and incorporate environmental sustainability in their entire business approach;
  • Diagnosing the organization capabilities and strategies in relation with corporate environment, identify strengths and weaknesses and proposes solutions for improvement;
  • Contributing to defining the organization marketing strategy and plan, working in collaboration with the marketing and fundraising manager, communication manager and IFR manager;
  • Contributing to the development of regional strategies and plans, working in close collaboration with the regional corporate partnerships manager;
  • Actively promote WWF strategy for private sector engagement in Romania through networking, social media presence and participation in events and media interviews;
  • Maintaining high satisfaction level of existing corporate partners;
  1. Corporate strategy execution
  • Coordinating the implementation of the corporate engagement strategy and annual work plans by working in close collaboration with internal and external partners;
  • Working cross-functionally with other team members to generate greater awareness of WWF partnerships and conservation work. Engaging and mobilizing other teams to contribute with technical input (conservation, communication, education) in order to present proposals, update reports or other necessary information for the corporate partners;
  • Due diligence of potential corporate partners, following WWF process and criteria;
  • Organizing the new business activities [acquisition] – company pipeline, meetings, presentations, follow up, relationship maintenance;
  • Identifying new revenue-generating opportunities within existing accounts by encouraging partners to take on additional engagement opportunities;
  • Developing offerings to potential corporate donors, including the preparation of funding proposals, presentations and MoUs
  • Responding to unsolicited partnership inquiries, evaluating whether a prospective relationship aligns with the organization and program goals
  • Communicating corporate partnership goals to internal and external stakeholders
  • Main contact person for corporate partnerships, on behalf of WWF Romania
  • Maintaining and regularly update the WWF International and WWF CEE corporate reporting requirements (corporate database, income and partners dashboard)
  • Participating in business events, networking meetings or organizes the WWF participation in such events, working together with the PR responsible.
  1. Account Management – current partnerships
  • Coordinating the account management for current partnerships – project and relationship management – with regards to the implementation of corporate engagements;
  • Key Account for selected corporate partners working with WWF across more than one country;
  • Handling day-to-day partnership needs for assigned corporate partners;
  • Maintaining and continuously updating a record of interactions (contracts, correspondence, proposals, reports) with existing partners, including all public and media information (annual reports, press releases, published articles, awards, etc.) that can help steward the relationship to further growth;
  • Handling invoicing for assigned corporate partners;
  • Tracking performance and fulfilling partnership reporting needs

 We expect from you:

  Knowledge:

  • University degree in Marketing, Management, Business, Finance, PR, Communications;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken Romanian and English

 Experience:

  • At least 5 years professional experience in sales, fundraising, marketing, public relations or related fields, with an emphasis on fundraising, networking, contacts with donors, business development and maintenance of strategic partnerships, project/program management, etc

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent networker, with good organizational and interpersonal skills, with ability to function in a multi-cultural environment
  • Proactive, with a can-do attitude; self-starter, quick learner
  • Able to work well within the national and larger international WWF team, as well as independently
