Communication Executive

[Full time position, limited duration – 8 months (March- October 31st 2022, with the possibility of extension), based in Bucharest]

The Communication Executive contributes to the WWF Romania’s mission and objectives by assuming the project management of brand related projects and by contributing to the relationship management of WWF brand ambassadors.

The position holder will contribute to the development of communication strategies and campaigns designed to mobilize and engage public segments on WWF initiatives and will organize the practical implementation of communication activities within assigned brand related projects, (Earth Hour, Living Planet Report, local brand campaigns, etc.).

Your duties will include:

  • Disseminating at internal level (within WWF Romania) the relevant information related to brand development (ID, positioning, design, key materials, etc);
  • Executing the development of brand materials for the Organization (presentation movies, whitepapers etc.), in collaboration with an external art director
  • Participating, together with the Communication Manager in communication meetings and preserving a good relationship with the conservation projects communicators;
  • Coordinating the implementation of the monthly newsletter;
  • Keeping track of the branding activities of other relevant NGOs and including relevant findings in quarterly reports [competitive monitoring];
  • For specific campaigns work in close collaboration with service providers such as advertising agencies, programmers and publishing houses;
  • Providing content on the campaigns he/she works, for general communication materials and channels;
  • Developing or contributing to new project ideas, based on achieved results/as a follow-up to finalised projects or to seize new opportunities;
    • Mastering the communication channels and tools, (WWF & project websites and social media: constant updates of relevant information on wwf.ro and other project websites / blogs and social media channels (FB, Twitter, YouTube);
    • Seeking and creating partnerships with other WWF offices, other NGOs and public or commercial entities in order to meet or expand project results, to increase reach of messages, add new and relevant expertise to own (WWF) initiatives, or to test new channels of public engagement/awareness;
    • Monitoring the data base of supporters and proposing solutions grow it and keep the users engaged;
    • Coordinating the students that perform internships in Communications Department of the Organization;
    • Involvement in organizing media events with national media and on general topics related to WWF Romania organization, according to the projects activities;
    • Supporting the organization and participating in various other events, when needed: project team meetings, stakeholders’ meetings, workshops, trainings, seminars, field trips, street events;
  • Publications: writing, editing and translating communications materials such as articles, interviews, news, presentations, different project publications (reports, studies, etc.)

  Knowledge:

  • University Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or other related field is preferred.
  • Native language Romanian; fluently in English, oral and written

 Experience:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in Communications is necessary. Past involvement in public campaigns is a plus

  • Computer literacy and experience with website management (WordPress), direct communication platforms (Mail Chimp) and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube)
  • Good networking skills
  • Commitment to WWF’s mission and priorities.
  • Experience with the issues and priorities of WWF, including e.g. environment and nature conservation, and work for an environmental organization is an advantage but not a necessity
  • Ability to work in an international environment and within a multi-cultural team
